Interdisciplinary teaching has emerged as a transformative approach in contemporary education, addressing the limitations of traditional subject-centred pedagogy. By integrating knowledge, methods, and perspectives from multiple disciplines, it promotes holistic learning and equips students with essential 21st-century skills. This paper critically examines the conceptual foundations, significance, models, and pedagogical implications of interdisciplinary teaching. Using a qualitative, analytical methodology based on secondary data, the study explores various approaches, including thematic, inquiry-based, and project-based learning. The findings indicate that interdisciplinary teaching enhances learners' critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and real-world problem-solving abilities. However, challenges such as rigid curriculum structures, lack of teacher preparedness, and assessment difficulties hinder its effective implementation. The paper concludes by emphasising the need for curriculum flexibility, professional development, and institutional support to successfully integrate interdisciplinary practices into modern education systems.
