Online Submission Guidelines
To ensure a smooth peer-review, editing, and publication process, contributors are required to follow the submission guidelines carefully. Submissions that fail to comply with these requirements may be returned to the author for correction before being considered for review.

1. Submission Policy
The Global Humanities Review (GHR) accepts manuscripts throughout the year on a rolling basis. All submissions must be original, unpublished, and not under review elsewhere. Manuscripts should align with the journal’s Focus and Scope, emphasising interdisciplinary, cross-cultural, or theoretical contributions to the humanities.
2. Manuscript Structure
Authors should organise their manuscripts in the following order:
- Title: Concise and precise (not exceeding 12 words).
- Author Details:
- Full name, designation, institutional affiliation, and full postal address
- Email address and other identifiers (Vidwan ID / ORCID ID / Scopus ID)
- Submission Date: In the format (DD/MM/YYYY)
- Abstract: 100–150 words summarising the research objectives, methodology, and key findings.
- Keywords: 3–5 relevant terms, separated by semicolons.
- Main Text:
- Minimum 2,300 words and maximum 4,300 words (including references, tables, and endnotes).
- Should include clear sections such as Introduction, Methodology, Discussion, and Conclusion.
- Endnotes: If required (footnotes are not permitted).
- Works Cited: Follow MLA 9th Edition (2021).
- Acknowledgements (Optional): Brief note recognising funders, collaborators, or contributors.
3. Formatting and Style Guide
- File Format: Microsoft Word (.docx) only.
- Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt.
- Line Spacing: 1.5
- Margins: 1 inch (2.54 cm) on all sides.
- Alignment: Justified text throughout.
- Citations and References: Must strictly follow MLA 9th Edition. Ensure all in-text citations correspond to the Works Cited list.
- Language: English and Hindi; manuscripts should maintain an academic tone and clarity.
4. Submission Modes
Preferred Mode: Online Submission Portal
Authors are encouraged to use the journal’s online submission platform (link provided on the official website) to upload manuscripts and accompanying files.
Alternative Mode: Email Submission
Authors may also submit their manuscript via email by attaching it as a Word document.

5. Inclusion Criteria
The Global Humanities Review welcomes research that meets the following standards:
- Language: Manuscript written in clear, grammatically correct English and Hindi.
- Originality: Research must be unpublished and make a substantive contribution to the field of humanities.
- Methodological Soundness: May include qualitative, quantitative, or mixed-methods approaches; theoretical or conceptual frameworks must be robust and clearly explained.
- Formatting: Adheres to the MLA 9th Edition style and the structural requirements stated above.
- Relevance: Fits within the journal’s Focus Areas, spanning disciplines such as literature, culture, translation, philosophy, language, digital humanities, postcolonial studies, and allied fields.
- Rigour: Demonstrates clear objectives, critical engagement, and evidence-based analysis.
- Ethical Standards: Proper citation, acknowledgement of sources, and compliance with institutional or disciplinary ethics guidelines.
6. Exclusion Criteria
Submissions will not be considered under the following conditions:
- Non-Research Content: Opinion essays, creative writing, poetry, fiction, or non-scholarly commentaries.
- Redundant or Non-Original Material: Previously published articles, conference papers, or self-plagiarised content.
- Methodological Deficiency: Lack of theoretical foundation, critical framework, or research methodology.
- Purely Descriptive Work: Studies presenting unanalysed data or summaries without interpretation.
- Book Reviews and Reports: Unless specifically invited by the editorial team.
- Review Articles: Systematic or narrative reviews, unless part of a themed issue.
- Ethical Non-Compliance: Studies lacking proper ethical clearance or failing to disclose conflicts of interest.
7. Plagiarism Policy
All submissions undergo plagiarism screening using advanced detection tools. Manuscripts showing significant overlap or unethical content will be rejected immediately. Authors are fully responsible for maintaining academic integrity and ensuring the originality of their work.
8. Copyright and Licensing
Authors retain full copyright of their work but grant Global Humanities Review first publication rights. The journal operates under an open-access model, ensuring broad visibility and academic dissemination.
9. Anonymity in Peer Review
To facilitate the double-masked review process, authors' personal identifiers (names, affiliations, acknowledgements) will be removed from the manuscript before it is forwarded for review.
10. Final Notes
- Manuscripts not conforming to these guidelines will be returned for correction before review.
- Authors are advised to maintain a professional academic tone and ensure accuracy of data and references.
- The editorial office reserves the right to edit accepted manuscripts for clarity and style before publication.
